YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

Dream IO is a private dream journal with optional social features. This policy explains the information the service handles, why it is needed, and the choices you have.

Effective July 24, 2026 · Last updated July 24, 2026

01

Information you provide

  • Account information, including your email address, unique username, password credential handled by our authentication provider, optional bio, profile photo, and optional birth month and day used to calculate a zodiac sign.
  • Dream journal content, including titles, written memories, moods, tags, privacy selections, mentions, optional voice recordings, and morning check-ins.
  • Social content, including comments, likes, saved dreams, friendships, blocks, private messages, and reports.
  • Support communications you choose to send.
02

How we use information

  • Provide authentication, account recovery, private journals, sharing, messaging, reminders, and other requested features.
  • Enforce privacy selections and prevent blocked accounts from reconnecting.
  • Protect the community, investigate reports, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability.
  • Respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests.
03

Optional Apple Health sleep access

On a compatible iPhone, you may choose to let Dream IO read sleep duration, sleep times, and available sleep stages from Apple Health. Dream IO uses this information only to show private sleep summaries and reflections that may help you compare sleep with dream recall.

Raw Apple Health records are processed on your device and are not uploaded to Dream IO’s servers, used for advertising, or sold. Dream IO requests read-only sleep access and does not write information to Apple Health. You can review or revoke access in the Apple Health app at any time.

If you explicitly turn on “Include sleep details with this dream,” Dream IO uploads and displays only the derived bedtime, wake time, duration, sleep score, and estimated dream timing attached to that post. You can also separately choose to publish a rolling overall sleep score on your profile. These sharing options are off unless you enable them, and they never publish raw Apple Health samples.

04

Sharing and visibility

Private dreams are available only to the account that created them. Close Friends dreams are shared only with accounts the author has added to Close Friends. Anonymous dreams hide the author’s profile from other users, but Dream IO retains the account relationship for safety, legal compliance, and abuse prevention.

Private messages are available to the two participating accounts and may be accessed by authorized personnel only when reasonably necessary for safety, support, legal compliance, or service integrity.

05

Service providers

Dream IO uses Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage, and Expo/EAS to create and deliver application builds. These providers process information only to deliver their services under their own contractual and security obligations.

Dream IO does not sell personal information and does not currently use advertising or cross-app tracking.

06

Retention and deletion

Account data is retained while your account remains active. You may delete individual dreams or delete your account inside the app. Account deletion removes the profile and associated cloud records, subject to limited retention required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or law.

Backups and operational logs may take a limited period to expire. Reports and moderation records may be retained when necessary to document safety actions.

07

Your choices

  • Choose privacy separately for every dream.
  • Edit or delete journal entries.
  • Control discoverability, friend requests, private messages, and reminders.
  • Remove friends or block accounts.
  • Delete your account and cloud data from Settings.
  • Choose whether to connect Apple Health and manage its sleep permission in the Health app.
  • Contact support to request access, correction, or help with deletion.
08

Security and sensitive memories

Dreams can contain deeply personal information. Dream IO uses access controls and encrypted network connections, but no online service can promise absolute security. Use Private visibility for memories you do not want to share.

Dream IO is not a medical, mental-health, crisis, or emergency service. Zodiac content is reflective and is not a prediction, diagnosis, or professional advice.

09

Children

Dream IO is not directed to children under 13. You must meet the minimum digital-consent age required where you live. If we learn that an ineligible child created an account, we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

10

Changes and contact

Material changes will be reflected by an updated date and, when appropriate, an in-app notice. Contact Dream IO Support with privacy questions or requests.
