YOUR CONTROLS
Data Retention and Deletion
This page explains how long DreamIO keeps common categories of information and what happens when a dream or account is deleted.
Effective August 19, 2026 · Last updated August 19, 2026
While your account is active
Account, profile, journal, social, message, preference, uploaded-media, and legal-acceptance records are generally retained while needed to provide the active service. Phone-only drafts and cached journal entries remain on the device until saved, removed, cleared during account deletion, or removed with the app.
Deleting individual content
Owners can edit or delete their dreams and comments through the app. Deleting a dream removes its active cloud record and associated uploaded dream audio or art through the deletion workflow. Content previously copied, captured, or shared outside DreamIO cannot be recalled from another person’s device or service.
Deleting your account
Profile → Settings provides an in-app Delete account control. The deletion workflow removes account-owned uploaded files, revokes active sessions, deletes the authentication account, and removes account-linked cloud records through database deletion rules. DreamIO also clears account-owned local app storage after cloud deletion is confirmed.
If deletion cannot be confirmed, the app reports that result instead of promising completion. Contact support@dreamingio.com if you lose access or receive a deletion error.
Limited retention after deletion
Encrypted backups and provider logs may expire on their normal rotation rather than disappearing instantly. DreamIO may retain narrowly limited records when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security, dispute handling, legal compliance, copyright processing, or documentation of serious safety and moderation actions. Those records are not retained for advertising.
Requests and verification
Use the protected support form for access, correction, or deletion help. DreamIO may verify that the requester controls the account before disclosing or changing information. Do not send passwords, government identification, or private dream text unless support specifically explains why a limited item is necessary.
